New York Sausage Rolls

  • 375g Hans American Hot Dogs
  • 3 Sheets prepared shortcrust pastry
  • 3 Tablespoons Seeded honey mustard
  • 3 Oven fired capsicum, cut into thin strips (from the Deli)
  • 6 Tablespoons Grated tasty cheese
  • Beaten egg and milk for glazing
  • 6 Teaspoons Sesame seeds


  1. Trim the pastry into 18cm wide sheets and cut each sheet into two cross wise to make rectangles 18cm x 12cm

  2. Remove the Hans American Hot Dogs from packet and set aside

  3. Working with the longest side of the pastry rectangles towards you, spread the mustard down the centre of each piece

  4. Place 2-3 capsicum pieces on top of the mustard

  5. Top each one with a tbsp of cheese and a Hans American Hot Dog

  6. Roll up the Hans American Hot Dog in the pastry like a Swiss Roll to completely enclose it

  7. Combine egg and milk, then brush the top of each roll lightly

  8. Cut two slits on top and sprinkle on the sesame seeds

  9. Bake in a moderately hot 200°C oven for 15-20 minutes
