Classic Hot Dog


  • 4 Hans American Hot Dogs
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 Small onion, finely diced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 Hans Bacon rashers, finely chopped
  • 500g Minced beef
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon ground coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 Cup Beef stock
  • 1 Tablespoon Tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated tasty cheese
  • 4 Soft hot dog rolls


  1. Heat a large pot on high heat and add the oil, onions, bacon and garlic. Fry until the onion has softened and the bacon becomes sticky on the base of the pot.

  2. Add the beef mince and stir continuously to break up into fine grounds. Add all the spices and stir through.

  3. Reduce the heat and add the beef stock and tomato paste and simmer until the sauce has thickened into a nice consistency. Season to taste.

  4. Grill the Hans American Hot Dogs on a BBQ for a smokey flavour.
    Place the Hans American Hot Dogs into the hot dog rolls and top with the beef mixture. Sprinkle over with cheese.
